Our Staff's Testimonial
I began my career at Sliders as a part time line cook in the summer of 1999. After about six months, I joined the company full time as the kitchen manager. I was compelled by the feeling of family that was created by Fred Marcantonio towards the staff that he employed. In early 2001, shortly after the opening of our second location in Berlin, I was given the responsibility of managing the kitchens in both locations. During that time, I worked with Fred and the other managers on a large scale menu expansion including the addition of many of our most popular wing flavors. In the summer of 2006, after I completed school, I was again promoted. This time I was given the responsibility of being the Director of Operations for the entire company. This challenging position put me in charge of all aspects of operating both restaurants from hiring managers, training staff members to monitoring profits and losses. In early 2008, as the opening of our third location in Southington approached, I was given the title of President. Since that time, Sliders has gone on to open our largest location to date in Wallingford. During my tenure with the company, I have watched as Fred continues to thrive while maintaining a close, family-like relationship with his staff members. As the company grows, we look forward to welcoming more and more people into the fold. Daniel Rowe
I have been working in the hospitality business all my life. I went to school for the culinary arts and have worked in a variety of areas of the trade. For many years I searched for a permanent home in the industry that shared my passion and common goals for customer care and quality service. That is how I found Sliders. I initially joined the Sliders team as a bartender and quickly realized how at home I felt. I was enjoying my job!The passion I felt gave me the ambition to grow with the Sliders family and actualize my career goals for extraordinary food and customer service.Over the years my personal and professional goals were again satisfied,as I was given the opportunity to become the General Manager of our Southington location, proving that opportunities for advancement are endless.I take great pride in my 8 year tenor with Sliders knowing that I am part of a management team that will continue to grow and be an industry leader. We give our customers what they want and keep them coming back for more! Sincerely, Kim Wallace
Sliders has been my second home since 2001. Over the years I have grown with Sliders and witnessed many positive changes. With the addition of each new location, Sliders matured from a neighborhood sports bar with pool tables to a family friendly restaurant grill & bar. I have worked in 3 of our 4 locations, enjoying all of them. I can honestly say I have been with Sliders for 11 years because of the great working environment. Managers are firm, but treat you with respect, my co-workers are fun and many of whom I have developed life-long relationships with. I love my regular customers that have been coming in for years, and especially enjoy when a new customer enjoys their first visit so much, they join my list of regulars too! It is such a compliment when my customers tell me, "We came here to see you!" I know then that my job was done right. Ericka As the Director of Operations for Sliders Grill and Bar, I proudly oversee all four prized locations. I have been involved in the hospitality and food service business since my adolescent years in the early 90’s. My passion for food and cooking began at a young age, with many different restaurant opportunities throughout CT. This was just the beginning of a love for the business that became part of my everyday life; revolving around hospitality, service and good cuisine. I first became a member of the Slider’s team as General Manager of the Plantsville location in 2008. Throughout the years in the restaurant industry, I have never been as proud as I am to represent such a well established and respected business. I continue to gain a wealth of knowledge working along side Owner and Founder Fred Marcantonio and President Dan Rowe. These men are two prime examples of smart businessmen and successful leaders in the hospitality world. I am forever grateful for being given the opportunity to serve as a Sliders representative; embracing their clientele and staff, who have become like family. Todd DiBattista
